The student final mark will depend on: exams (final and/or partial exams) and assignments (group tutorials and other activities).
Exceptionally, if sanitary conditions require it, not face-to-face evaluation methods may be included. In which case, the students will be informed of the changes made.
Laboratory practices are mandatory. Those students who don’t attend at least 80% of the PL classes will be marked as “no presented” in the continuous assessment.
The final mark will rely in three items:
1. EV1: There will be a theory / practical individual exam. It will last around 2 hours and the higher score will be 5. This exam will take place during the course classes.
2. EV2: The students will be evaluated, taking into account the exercises and assignments proposed during the course classes. This item weighs 2 points.
3. EV3: The laboratory practices will be evaluated in a final individual exam. It will last around 2 hours and the higher score will be 2. This exam will take place during the course classes.
4. EV4: The student participation in the classroom will be also evaluated, taking into account the exercises and assignments proposed in the classroom. This item weighs 1 point.
Remarks:
- The student should obtain at least 50% of the higher score in every evaluation scheme.
- If a student fails to pass the subject because he/she has failed in one of the evaluation schemes, the final mark will be the average of the different schemes if the result is lower than 4 points, and 4 if it is greater.
- The qualifications in each evaluation scheme will be retained only during the academic year (ordinary and extraordinary evaluations)
7.2. Ordinary assessment (May)
Students who fail the continuous assessment will be assessed in a final exam. The exam will assess EV1 and/or EV3, that is, it will assess only the scheme failed previously. The characteristics of the exam will be the same as in continuous assessment.
7.3. Extraordinary assessment (June – July)
Students who fail in the ordinary assessment will be assessed in a final exam. The exam will assess EV1 and / or EV3, that is, it will assess only the scheme failed previously. The characteristics of the exam will be the same as in continuous assessment. In the Early Extraordinary Assessment, the weight contributions to the final mark of EV1 and EV3 will be 70% and 30% respectively.
