Contextualization:

This subject represents the initiation to professional practice within the Master. The practices in company expose the student to the environment and real problems of the business and professional environment in general. The practices also teach the approach and execution of operational hypotheses based on scientific questions or hypotheses.

Requirements:

None other than to be officially enrolled in the Master program

Competences and learning results:

The student must be able to demonstrate the acquisition of their own specific competences in the field of marine biodiversity and conservation. You will also need to demonstrate the ability to integrate knowledge and make judgments based on available knowledge

Contents:

Supervised activity in companies or organizations in the field of marine biodiversity and conservation.

Integration in a research team with ongoing projects.

Variable theme according to the selected laboratory.

Methodology and work plan:

 

It will depend on the company, public institution or research laboratory where the student is integrated. Exceptionally, if sanitary conditions require it, non-classroom teaching activities may be included. In which case, the student body will be informed of the changes made

Assessment of students learning:

The evaluation of the Internships in Companies will be carried out considering a report from the internship tutor or person in charge of the researcher group in which the student is integrated, which will count 30% of the total evaluation. The remaining 70% will be evaluated based on the memory of activities presented by the student.

Exceptionally, if sanitary conditions require it, non-contact evaluation methods may be included. In which case, the student body will be informed of the changes made.
Differentiated evaluation: in cases with the right to duly formulated differentiated evaluation and that entail the impossibility of participating in face-to-face activities, the personal situation of each student will be taken into account and the assessment of participation in the sessions may be totally or partially replaced. face-to-face for alternative non-face-to-face tasks.
